For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve...

Mark 10:45

Caring Team

Our Caring Team gets together on the first Wednesday of every month to send thoughtful cards to the loved ones of our visitors. Whether it's a birthday, anniversary, well wishes, condolences, or congratulations, we're honored to be a part of any occasion that arises. Plus, our resident artist Nan Burrows personally handcrafts birthday cards for our preschool children.

Senior Adult Ministry

Our senior members at EMC are a fun-loving group who enjoy spending time together. They frequently go on outings, have lunch together, decorate the sanctuary, write cards, and visit those who are unable to attend church. Their presence is truly a blessing to our community.

Grace  Edgett
Development Center

In 1978, Erlanger Methodist Church introduced plans for expanding their educational facilities. The decision was made to provide a program that would expand the use of the building throughout the week. A child development center was planned as an outreach ministry of the church. The church approved this new ministry and after satisfying Kentucky’s regulations and requirements, the child development center was opened. The name chosen for the center was the Grace Edgett Child Development Center in memory of Grace Edgett. It was through her estate that the church was able to begin this ministry to children. GECDC is a non-profit organization and is completely self- supporting from the fees that are collected for child care. Erlanger Methodist Church is committed to the ministry of GECDC and recognizes the center as a very important outreach effort for the church.

Volunteer FAQ

How do I volunteer?

Everyone in the Body of Christ has a place they belong, and every person is important to the Kingdom! If you call EMC your home and would like to be involved, please contact the church office or talk to Pastor Devin, Charlie Love, Kathy Sandal, or one of our leaders! Some committees and ministries might require you to be a church member, but many do not, and we would love to see you fruitful and plugged into the ministry in a meaningful way alongside us!

How do I volunteer with kids?

Our children are such an important part of our lives, the future of this church, and THE Church! We welcome anyone who feels called to love and serve them.
Those interested will meet with Pastor Devin and our Children’s Ministry Coordinator, complete an application and background check (kept on file at the church), and participate in shadowing and training so you are ready and equipped to serve.
If you’d like to serve more in a special events role, that’s great too! You will still complete a background check and application and then join in the meetings or trainings specific to that event (such as Vacation Bible School planning and prep).

How do I volunteer with music?

You'd meet with Doris, our Choir Director, to discuss your interest and abilities and then she would evaluate your talents. From there, you could join our Choir, work with the team for specials, or do other musical elements as needed and able!

How do I volunteer with Outreaches?

Hour HOMETeam meets regularly to discuss ministry outreach events and activities and offers support to other ministries in the church as well as coordinating and leading service projects and events as needed. Anyone who is a regular attender can participate in HOMETeam and help with ministry outreach events, listen for the latest events and signups, check the Worship Guide for information, or talk to Pastor Devin or one of our leaders for more info on the next event and how you can be involved!
